Chef’s confirmed for the cookery theatre
The chefs demonstrating their skills in the cookery theatre at Kilnsey Show this year have now been confirmed.
The entertainment will kick off at around 10:30 with young and talented chef, Craig Allen from Coniston Hall hotel, followed by Bruce Elsworth from The Angel at Hetton. At lunchtime we will be joined by Stephanie Moon from Rudding Park who will be followed by Richard Upton from The Bull at Broughton. John Rudden from the Grassington House Hotel will close what promises to be a fantastic day of culinary delights.
Chinese food using Yorkshire lamb
Local Skipton Chinese restaurant, E-Pan, are planning to introduce more locally sourced and produced ingredients to their menu and will be starting with a dish using Yorkshire lamb from Paganum Produce.
Tim Lee from E-Pan will be demonstrating how to cook the dish, Yorkshire lamb with ginger and spring onions, in our cookery theatre and will be teaching Fresh Radio‘s James Wilson some of the secrets of Chinese cuisine.
Ian Smith from REAL and The Dales Kitchen went along to E-Pan with Chris Wildman from Paganum armed with some fantastic Yorkshire lamb to get a preview of the dish.
Ian said “This dish was just perfect using the local lamb and it’s great that Tim’s prepared to embrace the idea of using local produce, the more we can all work together locally, the better”.
This comes following a week during which REAL has been featured each morning on the Fresh Radio Breakfast Show with local chefs and producers talking about the importance of food partnerships. We would like to thank Fresh very much for their support and they will be joining us for the whole day at Kilnsey on Tuesday.
You can see Tim from EPan in the cookery theatre and Chris from Paganum in the REAL marquee.
Coniston chef to join cookery theatre
Craig Allan has now been confirmed to appear in the cookery theatre at this year’s REAL showcase at Kilnsey Show
Craig is Sous Chef at the Coniston Hall hotel and uses produce not only from local suppliers but also from the Coniston estate. He has been part of the Coniston team for 9 years and studied at Craven College. He says, “Using produce from our own estate means that not only are we absolutely certain of the provenance and quality, we also know that it’s perfectly fresh and hasn’t travelled far” he adds “it’s a great selling point for our customers and they love the fact that they are eating on the land where the food was sourced, you can’t get more local than that!”.

Bruce Elsworth confirmed for cookery theatre

Bruce gives a demonstration
Bruce Elsworth from the Angel Inn at Hetton will be giving a demonstration in the cookery theatre this year. Bruce is a veteran of the show and likes to get his demonstration done in the morning so that he can prepare himself for the fell race in the afternoon.
Bruce has a passion for using local produce and works closely with farmers. He regularly creates new seasonal recipes and will be treating us to one of these in his demonstration.
